We heard one egg peeping a little while ago! I was so excited LOL! No sign of pipping though. Someone said it could be 24 hours from peep to pip.

So did you all start your incubators on March 9? And tomorrow (Sunday) is counted as Day 18? I just want to make sure!!

What positions can you put them in? I thought they should just lay on their sides on the mesh incubator floor. I am giving 6 to my broody and keeping 6 in the incubator.

Mine are due to hatch on wed. I have 31 mutts and 19 duck eggs. I'm hatching in egg cartons this time to try that. I can't wait to have the fuzzy butts...

We have a pip! And a cute little beak tip poking out. Unfortunately it's on the bottom of the egg so we can barely see it. I first noticed the little chip of shell on the floor of the bator.

I had one wiggling when I left school. I hope to find one when I get to my room in the morning. I have some students wanting me to come at 6:30 am. Not quite that early but will be there early. Very excited!!

I have five eggs under a broody hen. I candled them on day eleven and took out one that wasn't developing. Three of them are Dominique / RIR crosses and two of them are pure Dominique. They are due to hatch in the middle of the night on Wednesday, I guess if you can pinpoint it that closely. I candled tonight, and they are really full. I saw small air sacs on two, but none on the other three. I didn't see movement or hear peeping though. Is that normal?

We have a chick! It was about 12 hours from pip till hatch. I missed the zip...It pipped around 7 PM last night (day 19). Nothing changed all evening and I went to bed at 2:30 AM. Then I got up at 8 AM and voila! The chick was out and about! Still very wet and very tired but it gets up and chirps every once and a while.

We have our first one out! We have 5 that are peeping. My desk is covered with kids! So much fun.
