March Egg Swap Addresses sent

I haven't heard from my second swapper since they contacted me. Not sure if they sent the eggs out or not. I thought we were supposed to have the eggs in the incubator by the 17th for Easter hatch.

OH Since we are all part of a big ol' swap-a-thon I have a question anyone have any serious problems with the PO yet?

I got eggs from someone else in yesterday (nothing to do with this swap) and my eggs that came yesterday had been opened AND tampered with along their route, some of the packaging materials had been removed from the box and one thing of eggs were toppled over on their side resulting in them being up against the side of the box with 2 broken eggs.

I am so mad, they didn't even try to retape the box and left it looking obviously opened, the PO are supposed to put a note on the box saying they've opened your package for whatever reason, and are not supposed to in any way result in damaging the contents of said package, so I am peeved. Calling around and seeing what I can do, but since they weren't insured I don't know if there is much to be done. Got to talk to my post master today, that is if shes back from her sick leave.

The PO loses boxes, bashes them, opens them and they seem to think they are not responsible. They even have special words, like misdirected so they don't take responsibility. Even the insurance is a scam they don't pay on busted eggs. Too bad there is not competition so they would clean up their act.

Well... I haven't heard from my swap partner. I'm hoping she sent them but forgot to send me the DC#????

I know exactly what you are talking about. I ordered some Bourbon red turkeys from cackle hatchery and when they arrived the box was slightly crushed on one side and the birds were shaken up pretty bad. One arrived DOA and another passed last night. called the hatchery and they refunded the cost of the two which i am very grateful for (although I believe the postal service is responsible for it). Very Very satisfied with Cackle for their part and customer service. On another note I sent some EE eggs to a member on here to Pa for the hatch along and the box arrived with it's side crushed in although it was marked fragile on all sides with large lettering. The eggs all were fine and no cracked ones but it just shows the careless the USPS is. I guess with them quantity is better than quality. Don't get me started on the ever increasing prices for ever falling care and customer service.

Did you get the ones I sent , Michelle? Deb

No, I haven't been to the post office yet today. It said they were supposed to be delivered yesterday. But the tracking hasn't been updated since they left TN. I should get them today. I haven't been to the post office yet today.

I had the po Open one of my packages and take the contents out. I opened a dispute and never heard anything about it. They just take what they want. There is nothing we can do about it either.
