I'll let you know you getting any eggs for me yet? Just joking I have plenty of eggs here.....

The ones you want are from my stingiest hens. LOL

Should start having a few for you and Karen in the next couple of weeks. I only have 2 laying in that flock so far. One just started 2 days ago. That was the HUGE egg. I understand their problem though, since I'm old too.

I candled the sebbie eggs from sumatra last night (only day 4 or 5 but I figured what the hey). 3 of the 6 eggs have definite veining, so hopefully I'll have a few babies in a couple weeks

I candled all mine last night and all but 1 seem to be doing good.

I have no idea why I quoted your post in my post. I think I am loosing my mind.

I have a question for all of you...I have a big incubator but just have a few eggs in it. I need to put more eggs in

...but I'm not sure how well a staggered hatch works. Have any of you done this? My lockdown is April 1st. Would the high humidity after lockdown mess up the new eggs if I put them in there?

Heck no! Fill that bator up!!!! I have a homemade incubator which has 5 egg turners in it and a homemade hatcher that has 5 hatching racks. I open both daily - sometimes several times a day. I have a calendar hanging on the side that I write down when they go in and when they come out. I also write dates on all my eggs so I know when they move from the incubator to the hatcher (in case I forget to write it on the calendar). As long as you are in and out and don't leave the door open for too long all should be fine. I don't rush because I don't want to drop any but I make sure I close the door when possible. When putting eggs into a tray - I will take the whole tray out and close the door. Place the eggs in the tray and then put it back in the bator.

I candled on Saturday night and my eggs are looking great! I have pulled out 2 from each of my senders (looked like rough post office hanling) but other than that, they all look good! I have 42 chicken eggs (some are from my own) and 2 duck eggs
