Looks like you might have a wheaton (sp?) Marans chick there. I've heard that they can pop up every now and then in the BCMs and it is pretty normal for this to happen for whatever reason. They're pretty too.

Woke up just in time to see a silkie complete the zip and hatch out.

Three more eggs are pipped, that leaves 5 more with no signs yet.

I will be setting my first batch next week. I have a dozen or so each of Australorp, Dominique and EEs. How crazy! I can't believe it. I told myself I wasn't going to do this but it's part of my son's science project. Wish me luck! We will compare a cabinet style 'bator to a homemade one.
