when you mix a turkin, do you ever get a bare neck chick? or is that trait not dominant.

Up to 33 live chicks here, with another 31 eggs to go

My 30-week old mix-Silkie hen went broody last Tuesday March 09. I put 6-EE and 2 ISA brown eggs for her to sit on, but on the following day I discovered 2 more eggs under her (1 her very own and another EE egg.) Now she's sitting on 10 eggs total. We'll see what happens. Hatch date will be on the 30th and 31st of this month.

Sasquatch: Yeah, a hatch! Go pips, go!

cook_kaka_ook: Nice hen! Yep, gotta get me a broody like that. Will be watching out for your posts at the end of the month.

Congrats everyone! hatching is so exciting and fun!!

I have six babies now, from an original 13 eggs, 9 made it to lockdown. The three that didn't hatch were 1 early quitter and 2 very late quitters.

Pics from the beginning of day two:
I don't know how to get by that washed out look with the flash on.. if I turn it off it's too dark
