March Hatch-A-Long.( How is it gettting here so quick ? LOL )

YOU GUYS!!!! I just realized It will be day 20 when I have to go out of town, & leave my husband in charge of this operation... EEEK!!! He said he would do it, but I'm REALLY nervous he will kill them on accident. Maybe I should sign him up & you guys could help him out in case he needs support.

Edit: whether it's accidentally or "accidentally" (on purpose)

I stopped worrying about humidity drops at night with my forced air unit. A little drying out isn't a bad thing. I try to bump humidity up before I go to bed. Thankfully, my LG still air has been stable too, but also dries out some during the night. I guess we'll see how well this works in 5 days when the first batch are due to hatch.

I would leave him with written instructions in point form. I'm sure all will be fine. :)

Aw nuts! I'd like to hear how this all works out.

Got a heating pad?

Sorry, my eggs are Malines large fowl, not quail.

Most of them are destined for freezer camp as well. I'm always interested in diversifying by trying new kinds of fowl. Looking into Muscovy ducks later this year. Someday would like to try quail or guinea fowl.
Want to try Cayuga and Welsh Harlequin in the future too, the diversity is key. We would also like goats and alpaca, maybe sheep, when we get more land. Chickens are such a gateway, lol (though I've had reptiles forever).

Yeah it will be interesting to find out! If none of you worry, I shouldn't either.

Thanks! Its my LG and I've only used the thermometer that came with it. Since I'm officially addicted, guess its time to by a real thermo/ hygro. Lol

Suggestions anyone on cheapest, but  really good one? Would prefer the kind that has the little probe that goes inside, but display is outside. I'm using this LG as a hatcher, & I'm a week behind this time, so I have til the 25th before my next lockdown.

I saw Accurite have one with a probe for $12.84 at Walmart, I should have bought it!
