March hatch along

Well I have my first ee to hatch 3 more pipped and 1 bcm who pipped wrong end. It is only just day 20 now so I hope for more soon. One bcm egg was hopping around I've never seen one move like that was very neat. Hope you all are having hatchers too, now back to staring at eggs.

Oohhhh my! My eggs are rocking!! I'm so excited. Day 20 officially begins in 3 more hours!!

Hi guys. Got home and my humidity was just under 50%.. Remember I've never measured H, so is this acceptable for a dip?

I will say, I LOVE being able to see (per my handy dandy digital therm/hygro) that my temp stayed within a two-degree range all day. I always hated thinking, but how high was it when I WASN'T looking?? LOL

I hope yours hatch good I just checked and have 5 ee pipped, 1 ee chick and still just one bcm backwards pip. I hope the bcm start tomorrow since I think they take the full time. Poor guy who is backwards I hope he makes it because I can't open the bator now. So exciting hope you wake up to pips all over =)

Yippee!! I don't have any pipping yet, but rocking and now lots of tapping and peeps. This is too much. I'm trying to restrain myself from planning my next hatch.

Ha good luck with that, I can tell your a lifer. I now have 2 ee chicks, 7 ee pips and 2 bcm pippers I don't think I will be getting much sleep. Tell those rocker and rollers to get pipping and zipping.

Not much sleep but up to 9 ee 4 more pipped. 1 zipping bcm and 6 more pipped. Yahoooo I'll take pics when everyone is out and dry. Christine I hope you start pipping soon since your at day 20 now. Why do babies always like to come in the night?

Just put 11 lav ameraucanas into lock down this morning. I put them in a cut down egg carton this time instead of laying them flat. I didnt candle them so not sure if all are still developing. I checked at day 8 and discarded 1 with a blood ring all others were developing well. Fingers crossed that this hatch will go better than last. I've got 2 dozen BCM eggs coming in about 3 weeks and really want to make sure everything is working well before setting those eggs.

I get a little jealous twinge when you post about your lav AMs, johnderosa.. None of mine ever made it out and I don't have the parents anymore.. Wish you were closer!

I was lucky enough to get hatching eggs from a top breeder last spring and hatched 12. I culled them down to the best trio and am now hatching my first generation. My first try produced 0... The next try was on target to be really good but i tweaked the humidity too low and dried them out. Only got 2 out of 15 that developed. The chicks look pretty good though... I've got my fingers crossed for this time around. I am hoping to build my numbers up a little this summer . I am still debating if i will make any eggs available this year but might . If you are interested pm me and we can discuss.
