March hatch along

Thanks. :) There are a couple I KNOW are gone, but isn't it funny how we still don't have the heart to give up on them? lol.

Don't give up! I know someone who went to throw away the hatch trash, and heard screaming from inside the tray.
If it were me, I'd be looking for internal pips, but I know that goes against the neo-sacred "lockdown" process.

Hehe ;) I've been candling.. I'm not a lockdown lord. There are only a few internal pips. There is one AM egg that, when I move it back and forth, I can see everything just flow around, looks like fuzzy edges like the rest but it's just really loose and dead looking.

Took another look. I'm not keeping up with which ones I'm candling because I'm trying to hurry and close bator back, but I know for sure I have one AM an one brahma internally pipped. The AM I can hear pecking a couple times. Here is a pic of the brahma. Lots of shadowy movement in that dip.

You candle them. If they have pipped internally you will see the beak in the air sac. Personally if they were moving yesterday and not today I would have already checked for internal pipping if I saw it I would chose one and open it at the airsac end carefully to see if it is shrink wrapped. I described how I do that earlier in this thread. If one is shrink wrapped they all are.

Guys, something is wrong and I'm about done. Still NOTHING. No silkies have pipped internally. Two AMs and one (not so hot-looking) brahma appear to have, but have made zero progress past that. It makes me sick to think of helping, because I feel like failing at that will make me feel like I shouldn't have.

This sucks. I don't know what to do. I'm mostly sick that my first ever chicken hatch has left this taste in my mouth when I was SO!! Excited. :(

Don't get to bummed out I had a zero hatch my first hatch and then only 3 out of 42 for my second hatch and the same for my 3rd hatch. I have been told it gets easier. But I know it is not easy right now. I was glad I already had eggs set because I did feel like giving up. My 4th hatch is going into lockdown on thursday I am very helpful gonna change my lockdown method this time put them in cartons to hatch instead of laying them down. I did assisted hatches with mine and I did not have good luck I found that if I had to help them out then they did not have the strength to survive.
