March hatch along

Just wanted to post my hatch. DIY incubator, 18 set, 14 successfully hatched, one failed pip. Not too bad for light bulb failure mid-way through incubation. Temp fell to 60's and eggs were cool. I so appreciate the encouragement I received here... THANK YOU ALL

Thanks!! Nothing yet but my temp and humidity have stayed rock steady while I was work. Now, the wait!

I know right!? I waited a few minutes but I just hooked up the generator. Not taking any chances. I had covered bator with a blanket, so when i uncovered again temp had only dipped to 90 and humidity of course rose a bit. But we're on our way now.

I'm just so glad I was here. If I had walked in on a power outage I'd have freaked!!

My brooder babies were rather entertaining though.. Oh, the IMMEDIATE dramatics when they experienced "darkness" and "cold" for the first time!!!

Power back on.. Crisis averted. Record time too; in this town, if the power goes out it's often for the long haul.
