March hatch along

In my opinion, your temp is a little low and the humidity is too high. If it were me, I'd get the temp to 101.5-102, and vent the airflow and try to get the humidity down to 30 at the most.
Good luck with it. You'll find what works for you. It's going to take a few hatches to figure it all out for yourself.

I agree if you are using a still air, temp should be in 101-102 range and lower your humidity.

I'm soooooo happy to see this thread still going! I've been on the April thread but I'm having a difficult time following it.

I haven't been able to get on BYC for awhile due to work. However since the last time I visited I set 47 silkie cross eggs (some are full silkies), of those 20 developed. 1 died before the 7 day candle and a second died between 7 and 10 days. I'm going to eggtopsy that one today, the first one my husband threw away before I had a chance. I waited till today to toss the clears and good thing too because I had 2 more develop that I did not find on the 7 day check. I think all the others were infertile, I'll be checking. The person that I got the eggs from has only 3 bantam roosters in with 40 plus LF hens so I didn't expect much. Overall I'm delighted, my DH isn't so much

Hopefully in a little over a week I will be able to post baby pics

Great, keep us posted!

this is the MOST stressful time for me re: hatching. It's the part where I have to know what to do and the appropriate time to do it. I waited too long to increase humidity last time because I followed "the instructions" instead of listening to the eggs.
You should share what you look for, aside from just what day it is.

I'm a candling addict.i noticed a *significant* drop on the air sac of at least one egg (within a 24 hour period) on day 17 candling, right before day 18 started, but figured I should follow the example of the tried and true way to do it and waited until I was about 10 hours into the 18th day. Everyone was still alive when I added humidity for "lockdown" but for three of them, it was already too late. They shrink wrapped while trying to hatch. The 9th that were later in development all hatched out fine, even the straggler who was always WAY behind everyone else, even when it came to beginning to vein.

Day six for my legbars. I see veining in 9 (possibly 10 but definitely 9) out of twelve eggs!

Question though.. Look at the ring here.. Does this look okay? You know, cause it's not like I should know this by now. :gig

It's like the veining looks great, but there's that ring-esque area toward the other end?

The veining does look good but that ring does look strange.... Not sure what to think. Thats why I avoid candling too much... Usually at day ten and at lockdown for me....
