I HATE my hatcher! I think with my next try I'll just use the incubator all the way thru.
I have 3 thermometers in there all say something different. I can't calibrate 2 of them because they don't go down to freezing or up to boiling, I just have to rely on the third.

Here's hoping!

Thanks. I pretty much tried this EXCEPT I could not keep the bator shut once the first three started running around and knocking into everyone else. I guess that was my true mistake.
I had the same problem and would open and then my others wouldn't make it so now I do not open and I have lots of fuzzbutts running around. Be strong you can do it once you see all your new babies it is worth it

I'm down to three eggs. :( Two legbar (started w a doz) and an EE.

I know it can't be temp and humidity had been fine too. What the heck?? I asked the lady how her hatches are and she said she "doesn't really keep track of it" but that it, "must be good bc I'm drowning in chicks"..

ew...that does not sound like a very honest reply. I'm sorry for this heartache.

I had I think three or four Marais hatch. One of them had trouble. After 8th pipped, the outer membrane turned kind of snotty yellow translucent color. I left him alone and left him alone. I could SEE his yolk sac inside the egg through the pip hole. This morning he had zipped about half way. I could tell he'd been at it a while and needed help. It was pretty gross inside his shell. Lots of dark liquid. Smells kind of bad too. Hos yolk sac got closed off on the outside of his body. Not sure if u should try to nurse it, let it do what it is going to do, or cull.

Well that was said when I purchased the eggs. I of course have not contacted her now, no point.. Too many variables with incubation and the *fertility* was great (9/12) to start.

Oh well. It is what it is and I'll move on. And hope for better luck with Papa's Brahma eggs. :/ I almost wish now I hadn't ordered them, especially seeing as I have my own now, lol. I'm still very excited to have his but the anxiety will be worse than ever!

How is your baby now?
