Marek’s for older birds

I'm highly suspect of vaccine success in older birds. That said, I don't see any reason why, if you were to vaccinate, you would have to go through a withdrawal period. If you can find the smaller doses of vaccine (I recall there's only one approved for home use), you could try. Marek's is a terrible disease to watch but the disease is everywhere. If you have chickens, you are very, very likely to have Marek's. The vaccine won't make it go away but it will stop the expression of the disease for a short or a long time. My experience has been that I either see it in young chicks and birds mostly, with a few later in life but not so much. You may be different.

I had a terrible problem with Marek's last fall with supposedly vaccinated chicks. Not fun and it definitely was a problem right from the start.
