Well i just went to check on it before i went to bed and found it laying lifeless, but still alive. I picked it up and it died in my hand a few minutes later. My first batch of chicks, my first death. Heartbreaking.

I’m so sorry you lost the little one. It stinks to do something you think will help and have it turn out badly, but your heart was in the right place. Hugs.

Out of curiosity, what gage needle did you use? How far did you insert the needle?
I can't help but wonder if the chick's nerves or something were affected adversely. There's a lot going on in the necks of chickens.

I couldnt tell you the gage. I used the needle that was provided by the hatchery with the vaccine. I pushed the needle in just a bit further than knowing it was inside the chick so i guess maybe i pushed too far
