Hi all-
I already posted this in the disease section, but I haven't gotten any help yet. I believe this issue falls under both categories.
I've been told to vaccinate my chicks for mareks when they are no older than 2 days old. I had a complication with the vaccine and now have to go buy it tomorrow. Is 3 days of age bad? They have been inside in a brooder.
Thanks!

I've been told that as long as your birds (chicks, mature birds, etc.) have not been exposed to Marek's then the vaccine will still take effect. Meaning that if you're chicks are in a brooder (i.e.- they haven't been outside) and you practice sound bio-security then you're probably going to be okay vaccinating them a little later than normal.

I've always tried to vaccinate my birds before they turn a week old, I've never had any issues with Marek's outbreaks... *knocks on wood*.
