This summer I grew lots of marigolds. The chickens wouldn’t touch them. This fall I picked all the flowers to dry. Has anyone given these to there birds? do I feed just the flower petals, petals and seeds or not at all? Thanks

Marigold is supposed to help make their yolks super golden yellow.... mine wouldn’t eat them either. I get them a supplement that has marigold in it.

My chickens love the leaves but wont eat the flowers, whether they are fresh or dried. Some people say their chickens love th he flowers. They eat what they want, when they want.

I know this is a older post but mine wouldn't eat them until I started pulling the flowers apart and they eat them up

I grew marigolds this last summer too. I broke up the blossoms and put them in a jar to add to their feed this winter. I haven't tried it yet, as they're doing a partial molt, so no eggs anyway. Now I'm curious! I might just sprinkle a few petals on the feed to see what they do.
