So today I seperated miss broody from the flock with poultry wire. She is still in the coop just sectioned off. I've had this flock kill chicks before (without a Broody though) so better be safe than sorry.
We are on my marked day 15. I was out of town and came home to a Broody on a bunch of eggs. So theres a 4 or 5 day time spand from my marked on date.
I have food and water in her area chick friendly of course.
Do I need to put my heater plate in the area? Its cold but I'm in California so it never gets freezing. I just want to be sure they don't freeze if they fall from the nest and mama is still hatching eggs. Or do I just check constantly and put them back in the nest/move it to the ground??
