What does everyone do for finishing market ducks? I'm curious because I haven't been happy with how they're coming out when they're finished.

How long are you letting them mature?

ive tried a few over the last 2 years and if i was going for meat ide do a full 365 days before butcher, Or mid summer through the winter and into spring

it seams they grow differently in a hobby farm than a commercial meat farm, Probably from being treated so much nicer with excercise and healthy food rations

So these ducks have to be under 26 weeks for my county fair, this year I am getting them the beginning of February and will show in August

What kind of ducks?

And what haven't you been happy with?

I have liked my Muscovy at all ages, and haven't felt like they needed finishing.

However, I found my geese too lean. So the geese I locked up for the last 2 weeks, fed them just regular geese pellets, and they plumped up perfectly.
