Marking Eggs

i need to mark some eggs in my bator what works best, that will stay and not run off or fade?

Hello,

From what I have read, just use pencil as other writing material may hurt the embryo. I did read one post that went ahead and used a sharpie and they hatched, but I would not try that on any "special" eggs.
One thing I am learning though is to make sure I write something (usually the type of egg hatching) on the top of the egg. That way when I candle the egg it always gets put back the right air cell side up. Sometimes both ends almost look the same.

We have used a sharpie and lead pencil for many years with no problems
