Solved Marking subforum read

I come into the site via: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/, from there I go into the subforums such as "Coop & Run - Design, Construction, & Maintenance" with a new window and look through the new posts that interest me. When done I'll close that window and click the icon next to "Coop & Run - Design, Construction, & Maintenance" to mark that specific subforum read. Then the browser automatically takes me back into the subforum where I just came from so I have to keep going back to the main forum.

Is there a setting to change that or some other means to mark a forum read that I'm not seeing?

You could mark read within the sub-forum before you close the window.
