Marking wings with zip ties

I have a question about marking the wings. Would it be possible to use zip ties to mark the wings?
I know that zip ties are used on the legs to mark chicks. I was wondering if it is possible to do the same with the wings?
I've read about marking chicks, but i didn't find anything about bands around the wings. Only the ones you stick trough the webbing.
Has anyone experience with rings or bands around the wings? Will it give them problems? The chickens I would keep can't really fly, but I could imagine that it could interfere with the movement of the wings. Or maybe I should only be using them on the really young chicks?
I would think it would be a nice visible way to mark them without having to catch them and they would be easier to put on and take of than when they are on the legs.
But maybe I'm completely wrong. So let me hear what you all think and what your experience is.

That is not a safe idea. You can use zip ties around the legs, but you must clip the end off flush with the lock, and must check often to be sure the ties don't get tight, and replace the ties as necessary. Chicks grow super fast.

If you must mark them, band the legs. Do nothing to the wings, especially if they are chicks.

Identification. If you have a bunch of chicks that look alike, you can mark them so you won't mix them up. Yes, some people use zip ties but the numbered leg rings are actually pretty cheap if you're feeling like you need to mark your chicks.

BTW, the reason nobody marks them the way you're proposing is that it would cause injury. Just don't mark them at all if you're unable to perform the size checks and update leg bands as they grow.

I mark them with leg bands, we need to to join shows.
I was just wondering why nobody used wingbands and now i know!

There are such thing as wing bands, maybe that's what you're thinking of? They're not like zip ties, rather they're permanent markers that staple through the wing. I would not use a zip tie on a wing for sure, just too much risk of them hurting themselves with it.

I knew that the ones that you stick through the wing existed.
But i wondered why stick it through if it's way easier to just put them around the base of the wings.
Now i know that they will hurt themselves that way and that the only way is to stick it through if i want wing bands. But i'm fine with the leg bands i use.
I couldn't find anything about that so ask the people here who have more experience.

I use legbands that loosen them selfs until they get official rings. But I'm always looking for information and wanting to learn.
