Hi, I am new here and I have a quick question. I have about 16 cuckoo marrans and they are about 6 weeks old.
I am sad that they are so skittish. The roosters will eat out of my hand and let me pet them a little (just a little) and the hens .. forget about it. Does any one know about them? Is is the breed ( I bought them from cackle hatchery so I have had them from chicks) I really wish I could develope a relationship with the hens. But they are frigid

I don't think that they are a skittish breed. I would just hold them and hand feed them as much as possible. I am guessing that to them we must seem like giants. Just keep doing what you are doing and they will come around. Don't worry to much about it, mine did the same thing and we just kept feeding and holding them. Now when I go out into the yard they follow me around like I am their mommy. Really I have them trained and they are looking for treats.
