They are buddies. They are also the welcome crew for the chicks behind them.

We were out of town a couple nights, when I came back I had a look at Liberty and alway thought she was part Wyandotte because of her thick comb. I looked at her neck feathers, and thought they were very spiky. I looked at her saddle feathers, spiky, then looked at her tail, bright green metallic in the sun. Liberty is a boy.

one of my hen just laid an egg, and yesterday Liberty crowed, i know it has a meat spot, but does it have a bullseye? It would mean Liberty is a dad. I don't think he was brave enough to hop on a hen. Ignore the blood.

I think you need to throw some test eggs into the incubator

It will happen, I want to save at least 6. I do have some hens that did not squat, so I will save eggs from the squatters.
