Maryland Poultry Swap & Farmer's Market **UPDATED w/ PICS pg.43**

Msbear, we are looking forward to our first chicken Swap. On your list you have LF next to several of the chicken types. Can you explain that to me? Also any idea of what the age of most of the birds will be? We will be looking for a couple of BO and EE. We currently have 4, 8 week old hybrids. And would like similar aged hen. We are doing this as a family hobbie and not as show chickens. It does sound exciting.
Thank you

The lf is for large fowl beside mine because they come in lf or bantam sizes.
I also get asked for a lot what size they are so it is habit for me to put that and msbear just puts what we put down.
There will be day olds and up to full grown at te swap.

Thanks for you patience. Very helpful.
We are abiout 2 hrs. away. I'll have a dog crate in the minivan. A water supply in the crate. Anything else I may need to keep the birds safe and secure? Should I cover with a dark sheet? Any hints on traveling with birds?
See you all next weekend!

I think you are all set! Shoot, you'll have A/C in there.. They'll be fine but, a dark sheet may be helpful. It will calm them and put them into sleep mode.

See ya on Saturday

Don't know how, since all my Peahens and Peacock are India Blue, but I think my first little Peachick is Pied. He has white wings and breast/belly. That is way cool. So cute and gentle. Also, two white ShowGirls out and running around.

10 more eggs to go. 7 more Peaeggs to go. Fingers crossed and re-crossed. lol

Oh, and Elmer/Goatie is loving life. Denis just shared a cracker with him and I think Goatie is winning him over. lol Dogs all think he is just another one of the pack. So funny watching him play and race around with them. Thanks Erin.

May have a pair of Millie Fleur d'Uccles to bring if anyone is interested.

We will be offering a few show quality pairs of birds to be sold at the Show Clinic. All proceeds go to benefit the Maryland Poultry Fancier's Association to thank them for their help with advertising cost, the testing clinic and to thank Paul Gilroy for judging at our Show Clinic

Tammy, what variety of silky were you donating to the MSPFA for sale? I forgot. I will be offering a beautiful rosecomb pair. Tonya.. I think you were offering a pair too right? If anyone else has a nice pair or trio they'd like to donate, please message me so we can have enough sale cages in the Show Barn.

Leslie Hart whom works for the Ag. Dept in their advertising dept. will be supervising the Show Clinic until the sales area slows a bit so, no worries about your birds

Wouldn't hurt to bring the cooler. I'm bringing hatching eggs and they will be in a cooler but I am not packing them in ice just a mini pack to help if its hot hot. I don't wash my hatching eggs so unless it gets unbearable with the heat they will be fine.

Thank you... I am very excited... What kind of eggs?
