MARYLAND THREAD!

Is anyone interested in starting a Speckled Sussex breeding program? They're on The Livestock Conservancy's Priority Conservation List, so they can be difficult to find. I "fell into" a pair of pullets at TSC eight weeks ago ,,, but by the looks of their combs, I think I have an actual "pair," instead! Letting both pullet and cockerel go together, not just the male! I'm in Cecil County, Maryland, very close to the DE/MD/PA corner.

Hello Marylanders, I have inadvertently ended up with a beautiful French Black Copper Maran (he was supposed to be a she), and he’s now around 14 weeks. I’m not going to be able to keep him since MoCo doesn’t allow roosters. The hatchery I got him from assured me they’d take him back, but I’m pretty sure they’d end up just killing him and I’d rather him have a life and a good home. He’s easily handled, and follows me around the yard hoping for treats. Please let me know if anyone has any interest.

There's likely a high school around you with an Ag program. Contact the teacher to let him/her know you have a classroom friendly rooster. Ours has two - and they both wander around "helping" with daily assignments!
