Maryland?!

I'm on the Eastern Shore in Easton.We have a flock of laying hens and pigeons.But work on the western shore mostly from Annapolis to Leonard town.Would like to find somewhere to buy more hens,besides the auction if possible.Gonna be looking for light Brahmas,white leghorns,old English,and maybe others.Also interested in finding some Red golden pheasants and doves.Let me know if you have some or know somebody.Thanks

and any help with how to acquire chix locally. i found a fellow in Hebron that sells biddies 1.25 each not sexed. He has RIR, New Hampshire Reds, Buff Orpingtons,  Pearl-White Leghorn, he also has some Turkeys he sold me some for $5.00 each. WE are trying to bread Silver Sebrights, and Silkies both white and balck, and a bunch of muts if anybody wants his phone number pm me.

Is this guy or you still around? My mom is looking for more silkies and we would love to buy local. We live in Snow Hill, but are in Hebron a few times a week.

I live near St. Michaels. You'd think that Delmarva , being the 'chicken capital' of the Mid-Atlantic, would mean that supplies would be easy to find but that's not the case. I have had to run all around getting feeders,litter, food and stuff. The nearest Tractor Supply is in Dover so that's where I shop.


I had to Google Stockton....boy that's wayyy down there!


Here's our coop. It was just delivered. The Amish custom built it for our girls. I'll get a shot of the inside once we are done remodeling. They built the nest boxes on the floor and did not fully enclose the coop section from the storage section./img/smilies/sad.png We will start building the run this weekend.

I know how you feel. Funny...I live near Stockton and still have trouble. Luckily there are old items on our farm to use. There is now a Tractor supply in Pocomoke, Berlin, and SALISBURY.
I do remember when I was a kid we actually could get all supplies from stores right in town and we had actual butchers that only butchered and sold from the best farms with great farming practices.
My husband and I are trying to bring back those days. We are just started, and are moving slow.

I know the feeling. They usually didn't have anything that I wanted bad enough, but the bantams were so cute bc they are so tiny.
