Hi,

New peafowl owner here. I was initially in search for indian blue peafowls (because of their colors) but instead got these pair from a local breeder here in the Philippines.. I was told that the male is a blue pied while the female is spalding. I think they're about a year old. Now, I've looked up over the internet and it seems there's not much color on this pair? It looks like brown and black are the more dominant colors on them. The breeder who I find reputable assured me that the color would come with age. I was also told the blue pied is more sought after by other keepers. I'm posting just to get another perspective from fellow keepers and to start an engagement in this community. At their age now, will there still be significant changes in their colors? Thank you.

They are both Hybrids, the cock less than the hen. The cock is IB Pied White Eye, low Hybrid, and will get more color as he matures. I don't see any indication of the hen carrying any white genes so they won't produce any Pied offspring but will be split to Pied or White. When I first started in peas I didn't want any of those mixed-up birds with white on them, but I have changed with the times and really love the Pieds now.
