My duck's mate ...his brother....just went missing in 15 minutes in our yard. I was inside feeding our dogs and came out and bubbles was gone. There was no feathers, or signs of anything.
That was Monday ...waddles won't eat and is barely drinking...
I want to get another duckling...will my waddles sit on the duckling and keep him warm.?
Is there anyway to tell a female duckling at the feed store ?

Thanks for the help..this is so hard...

No..I have ordered 3 girls from Metzger farms but it will be 14 days before they are here..I don't know if Waddles will make it that long..I even slept out in his coop with him

Thats sweet of you. Can you find any on facebook, craigslist, petfinder, anything?

I can find some but nobody knows how to sex them...I would be ok with another male to save Waddles..my question is would Waddles keep the duckling warm..or do I need to seperate them and heat lamp the duckling?

Your duckling will still need to brood as your male may show aggression. Your best bet right now is finding an adult. Either way the ducklings will need to brood for awhile before they can be introduced to him.

Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it.

Indiana Rochester to be exact
Well I checked your state thread and it seems VERY active! They also seem super nice! I would ask on there and see if anyone might have an extra drake that needs a new home. We have an extra drake but unfortunately we live way down in texas, someone usually always has an extra drake so maybe you could give one a new home until your lil'ducky girls are older.
