Machine shops that use sheet metal Their pallets are some times 10 x 4 feet in size. They use 4 x 4 x 10' long boards that run the length of the pallet. Not pressure treated but who cares its free. the slats that support the metal are usually good for the fireplace but if you can get them off without breaking them make good siding or little building stuff.

Garage door replacement companies. They replace a Wood garage door with a roll up. Those wood doors are heavy but they are made of at least three eights thick plywood. I have some that are made of 5/8. Here alot go across the border to mexico for building materials but a garage door for two car garage is sixteen feet wide by eight feet tall give or take Already framed and sturdy. Some places will give them to you even deliver. Others will charge a nominal fee. Garage doors also come with some hardware that is useful too. That metal rod that goes across for stiffening is great for supporting wire.

Someone mentioned constructions sites thats a good one too.

Another thing I look for at garage sales is the walls for above ground pools. There are two kinds either Plastic or sheet metal. Those can be used for roofing or dividers or wind screens you name it. A twelve foot diameter pool wall is thirty seven +- linear feet of building material either two or three feet wide. Of course you have to live with the color....LOL

In that same vein old pool ladders would make excellent roost supports. Fun places for the run.
