Math/Angle help?

Look, really the simplest thing is to lay your wood out on the floor, making sure the 'sides' are good'n' square... and then just MARK up a template piece with the correct angles, length, etc. It is EVER so much easier for small structures than getting all math-y, and guaranteed to be accurate (whereas few people can say they *never* make math errors)

Good luck, have fun,

you have what is called a 4/12 roof.

which means that for every 12 inches of span your rise is 4 inches..

take your framing square ad on the edge of your rafter,, set the mark on the short side at 4 inches and at the same time set the mark on the long side at 12 inches.. then draw 2 lines, one along each edge of the square.. the long line is thehorizontal angle that will set on top of the wall and the short line is the verticle angle at the ridge..
