My D has been sick this week so the teacher sent home a packet of homework.

One of the problems is

32L = ___________ dam

I cannot translate litres into decameters.... what am I doing wrong?

It might be easier to keep it in scientific notation

1 L = 1.0 x 10^-6 decameters

(32) x (1.0 x 10^-6) = 32 x 10 ^-6 = ((3.2 x 10^-5) dam^3)

OK, so you basically cubed the measurement to make it 3 dimensional??

Either way, it is way off of the rest of the lesson which was translating centimeters to all measurements to kilometers.....

Is there any other possibility for what L means other than litre?
