Mating chickens but infertile eggs?

I am eager for my 9 month old hens to start having some chicks of their own. I have seen my cockerel mount them many times. I put two eggs in the incubator for three days and candled them this evening. But they appear to be infertile. They look like a store-bought egg.
I am just wondering if my cockerel could be experiencing any problems with his fertility? Or if there's any way to tell if the hens are rejecting his sperm?
(The chickens are silver laced bantam Wyandottes).

It's more likely that the pullets reproductive organs aren't up to the task yet. Just like humans, females of the species can mate, but aren't (usually) able to procreate until some time later. In chicken terms, the girls usually mature one or two months after the boys. I wouldn't be overly concerned right now.

Thank you for the information. I really hope it's just a waiting game like you said, and there isn't something wrong that I can't help or fix.
