Hi! Over the summer I hatched 3 Khaki Campbell Ducks and now that they are fully colored I can accurately say that I have one drake and two females. They are about 5 months old now and I have noticed that my one drake keeps mounting and grabbing the neck of the bigger female. When do ducks typically start to lay? Also, I was hoping for them all to be females because I am not looking to have anymore ducks, even though the babies are adorable! How do I know if the eggs are infertile and able to be eaten or not? Since the drake is mounting I am nervous that the eggs collected will be fertilized and I will collect it by mistake. If someone could help me that'd be amazing!!

Your duck hens may very well start laying soon. Fertile eggs can be eaten as there is no development unless they have been incubated.
