Mating feather damage

I have a year old barnyard mix that is losing feathers on her back from mating. She's not a big chicken, but my other one that's a similar size doesn't have that kind of damage, she now has bald spots on her back.

The rooster is young, doesn't have his spurs yet. I have eight chickens and two pullets.

Should I get her a saddle in the fall? Do they interfere with dust baths and keeping warm/cool?

She needs a saddle now, roos can have a favorite even if there's plenty of girls. Or maybe seperate her so the rooster can focus on the others.
