I noticed last night during the ducks' bath that Hemmie, my girl Australian Spotted, seemed to have some redness around her vent area. Looking back, at the end of her and Downey's mating sessions, she had been letting out a louder than usual quack. She is acting fine, and so is he. Lots of foraging outdoors and swimming, peeping, flapping. Could she just have irritation from mating? I sprayed Downey with the hose and shooed him off of her outside today, just to make sure she got a break, in case that is it.

I don't look often, either, it might be the natural pink color. Lol. They get their indoor enclosure fully cleaned and changed every night, and they get a bath every night, too. They're also melting. I wonder if she could be preening too aggressively?

No mites that I could find, and I made their bath warm just in case she did hydrate some irritation. She's eating and pooping and seems happy, so I think it's okay! It looked a little less bright pink when I caught a glimpse this evening. It's about time for her to start laying eggs, so there might be calcium and egg stuff going on, too.
