A pair of my ducks have started mating. How long does it take for eggs appear?

Mating and egg production are not really connected. A hen will lay eggs without a drake. Our silver Appleyards start laying at about six months, and they lay straight through the winter. Depending on where you live and what type of ducks, you may not get eggs until the spring if they were hatched this past spring/summer.

They are 18 weeks old Pekin ducks.

They will lay eggs regardless of mating; they don’t need a male. With a male present the eggs will be fertile; therefore if you incubate them they may hatch.
