one silkie has a small matted area below 1 eye, other eye is fine but looks as if small particles of crusting are below it. some crusting came off w warm water. the other 2 silkies seem fine. I have heard some sneezing from cochins but no more that usual.

QUESTIONS fr sticky:
1) Silkie, 2 1/2 mths - had since 6/6/09 (3 silkies & 2 frizzle cochins fr same farm w inspection certification seem in good health, plus 4 d'uccles are fine)
2) What is the behavior? NORMAL
3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. NO
4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. I added new pine & turned soil in area, same as always. There was severe rain Mon but dry before & since. (reminds me of similar problem i have had w dogs' eyes.)
5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. NORMAL
6) How does the poop look? NORMAL
7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? warm water & dampened head feathers into a "mohawk" to observe.
8 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? want to treat completely yourself
9) If you have a picture of the wound or condition- camera broken
10) Describe the housing/bedding: inverted translucent plastic tub, raised up for ventilation w pine bedding; living area: open atruim w pine mixed into ground in corners, river stones on sides of path, fencing wood for perches.
