Hi!! My family and I have several BCM'S. All hens are mature with very red combs. The problem is that we are getting only a couple eggs a day when we should be getting a couple dozen. They free-range, they have roomy nests, and there is a large window in their coop. We did read that they prefer their nests no more than 18 inches off the ground. Ours is currently about two and a half feet off the ground. Could this be our problem? The nests are getting lowered this week. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
