I have a new bag of chick starter crumbles, but on closer inspection of the label I see it has 5% calcium. The bag does say however that it is "chick starter."

Is this too much calcium??

I am in a new area and can't get what I have always raised my chicks on, namely Nutrena. This feed is made by "Prince". Ever heard of them?

I'm worried. Please advise!

Chicks have to hae some calcium for bone growth. If it's labaled "chick starter" I'm sure your ok.

I re-read the label. The calcium content is 1.5%.

I had a feeling 5% was just too much.
