I've kept mine in the egg carton, but moved them to be on their sides, air cell up, at lockdown. I've done this the last two batches.

I have used eggs a week or so old and they were fine. The ones I have in now are a week - 10 days old (from my hatch) since the person I am hatching for wants splash babies so could only put eggs aside when I could tell 100% that one of my splash girls laid them and I only have 2 splash girls so took a bit to get all the eggs. LOL Now can't tell you yet how that worked since for 1 I am only on day 2 (will be day 3 this afternoon) but even though their eggs are not dark at all they are extremely hard to see in! Like can barely make out the outline of the yolk..... LOL

I've hatched eggs up to 11 days old with no problems and I've read of others who hatched even older ones. A week is definitely fine so if you collect for just a week, I think you could prioritise the best eggs out of them (cleanest, best size, shape, colour etc.) rather than the newest.

Moonsparkle has chicks! I haven't seen them yet but I heard cheeping from outside the coop and her chatting back to them. It's way too loud to be coming from inside eggs so at least some must have hatched. I'm trying hard to be really good and not disturb her but I hope she'll let me see them tomorrow!

next hatch will be set Tuesday, but will fall into June I think!

Day 14, did a candle & air-cell check. All 34 still look good! First time candling this batch that I didn’t have to pull an egg, thank goodness!

Hoping they will start hatching on day 20 again, so I can move any eggs I’m waiting on to the Kebonnix (hopefully 12 or less) by Sunday after dinner, and I can set some of my eggs Sun before bed instead of Monday. Having 2 incubators gives so many more possibilities!
