MAY EGG SWAP . . . . Deadline - Eggs must be shipped!!

I am keeping my fingers cross the electricty has went out twice on them for several hours at a time, so I hope it didn't hurt them. I am optimistic that they are going to be ok. Thanks so much again for them. I will let you know how the hatch goes.

Ok in the end I had 3/10 hatch. USPS was horrendous... AGAIN

so I'm happy. I have two ADORABLE Wyandottes from Soggy Bottom Farm plus one black sexlink from my flock. My other sexlink pipped at the wrong end and since I was hatching in cartons (first time doing that) I didn't know

Sadly he got stuck and when I found him it was too late. Probably won't do cartons again.

Here is a pic. They Wyandottes are blue with a white face and blue with a black face. Not sure what they'll feather out to be - it'll be a surprise

I had 6 out this morning and a couple more pips out of 10 eggs from pheatherz orpington eggs. They are lavender, lav/black, splash and I think Lav/blue. I received some bonus red cochin eggs from her also but they never even made it through the resting period. All eggs arrived perfect. I got them out. Set them on the table on our screen porch and went back outside. An hour later, I come in on the porch and my stupid dog is licking up eggs off the floor. She had pulled of the cochin eggs and was having a little snack

I know better to leave things on the edge of that table. She even eats cigarettes if they are left out!!

Tomorrow is lockdown for Pheatherz eggs, and 12 out of 13 are going into lockdown!

The final result was a 100% fertility rate and an 80% hatch rate. As of this morning, I had 7 out and 2 pips. I candled and one was still working on getting out but one of the pipped ones was dead so I went ahead and helped the one that was still trying (thats the one that is still sitting in the egg and is still wet). The last egg was fully developed but had not tried to pip and was dead. So out of 10 set eggs, I have 8 babies. We make a good team pheatherz!!

Ignore the other two eggs. They were 2 eggs I set from my showgirl roo and silkie hen before the gnats killed him. Only a 50% hatch with those.

My final results on Pheatherz eggs.....drum roll please.

Out of 13 shipped eggs I have 12 adorable chicks!!

Thats great! I've been getting 99% hatches here at home. So glad, my quail pens are filling back up.

Ok Update sofar is 2 guineas and looks like 1 more pipping.Lost one.Pipped external shell,but died.I also have 4 RIR bantams from an exhibitioner that hatched.Out of 12 eggs and 7 to lockdown,that looks like all I'm getting.
