May Egg Swap Eggs are arriving!!!!

One of my goose eggs has been pipped for 3 days now. The other one is not doing anything. They were due to hatch (at 30 days) on Friday, so I don't know what the deal is. I hope they both hatch, I have nothing to put 1 baby goose in with!! I think it would squish my quail chicks!!

Karan, they are so cute! Their four siblings that I hatched last week are really active too.

Charlie, the hatch is done, I think, though I don't need to move any more eggs off the turn and into the hatcher for a few days so I'll probably let the others set for a couple more days, just in case. I didn't see movement in the other eggs when I candled last night though, I I'm pretty sure we're done. I have 8 active, wriggly little keats in at least three colors. I'll post a pic once I get this last one in the brooder with the others (and my chicks, they are all playing so well together!).

Well, I have a lone gosling again. The other baby didn't make it. I took it out of the bator this morning, and put the dead 'gosling in shell' in a plastic bag. Apparently it had broken its yolk sac somehow, cause there was egg yolk all over the inside of the bag. Probably because it had pipped so low. It was about midway of the egg where it pipped the membrane, and it had hit some blood veins as well.

But I have one baby loving on its mama bear, so that's better than nothing!! I think I'll just buy goslings next time, and leave the goose-hatching to the geese (when they are old enough)
