MAY HATCH-A-LONG come join in

I did two candlings yesterday.... The first in the early morning on Day 7 and one in the late evening. What a difference a day makes! On my first candling I could only detect a handful of eyes or blobs out of 29 USPS eggs and almost threw out a dozen eggs...but cracking open three made me put them back in the bator. (Oops! ) Last night I had over 20 little guys dancing around!

I've got two definite clear eggs and 4 really "What is this?" eggs that I can't tell a dang thing....So they're in their own little corner of the LG awaiting next week's candling.

Thanks everyone. My humidity is still at 81% *sigh* and my temps are steady at 102 F. I'm a little worried, mostly for the temp. I will wait a little longer and see if either goes down. I have the plug off and still no change. Should I be worried at a 102F temp.

9 out of 12 Pekin eggs are going good. The 3 that did nothing were tossed. These are due to hatch the 12th, so i have 9 more days. Temp is hanging between 99 and 102. Depending on the temps in the house. Humidity is about 60% and hanging there.
Have 6 out of 15 Blue orp eggs doing well. Have 4 that are looking clear and 5 that we are not sure about. These are due the 11th, so getting close to the due date.

It "could" be the high humidity playing tricks with your temp. I would probably go tap it down a little bit...but that is just me.

good luck!

I have one hen that is setting now to she has 11 eggs under her 5 BR and 6 RIRs. She is a Isa brown but very determined to have chicks this is the second time she has tried this year.
I also have another one that is setting and will be puting eggs under here tonight if all goes well.

I think it will be fine to take the chicks out even when the ducks are on lockdown. just do it only once a day.
Hope this helps.
