I woke up to 7 BBS Mottled Cochins this morning. I can't tell yet who's blue vs black, but they're adorable! Their daddies are frizzled too, so some of them will hopefully frizzle!

I GOT A CHICK! I got here this morning, and there was a pipped egg! About an hour later, we had a fluffy chick. The kids got to watch it hatch and all. We clucked and peeped at it, and man, did that help that little thing get going. Came out pretty clean, which I was suprised about.

I hope we get some more!

5/6 of my Light Sussex's are fertile

Due in a week's time. I also have some of my own Quail eggs in the bator, due in 13 days

I have eggs due on 26 i think LOL some ee eggs and silkies. Has anyone ever had a side air cell? All 35 other eggs are fine in turner this has the air cell on the side I can see the chick moving so I dont know.

I've had them hatch like that so leave it-I don't hatch in cartons mine lay on the bottom they do look weird when they zip but it's from being shipped in my cases....

We've had a chick hatch! Yesterday in fact. It was one of two that I grabbed off of a nest that a broody hen abandoned, so I really had no idea where it was in the process. It looked about the same development as the Serama eggs that I had set.

Still no Serama babies and the other egg has not hatched yet. I set some Serama pullet eggs that I was holding to check for fertility. When every one of them I cracked was fertilized and because they were at a normal size for Serama eggs I went ahead and decided to incubate the rest of them......unfortunately, it was a spur of the moment thing and I forgot to mark the exact day set them.

I guest-imated Wednesday as the 19th day but no sign of any activity other than the full size chick that hatched. Being the pessimist I am I figured they were all duds and decided to grab the hatched chick out and candle an egg.

Lo, and behold, there was a live chick in the Serama egg! It looks really close to hatch. I quickly put it back and that incubator is not opening until these babies are hatched!

I am tickled pink. The temp is good the humidity is where it needs to be.....now all we need is for some good strong babies to hatch themselves out!

(We need a hatching prayer smilie!)

Ok so grand total 4 EEs. Not one Polish

I candled the eggs that are due the 38th and looks like all the polish eggs have broken membrains. I'm so sad. I miss all my Polish so much and I just can't get a good hatch

The Polish I have in there now were sent eggs. Very carefully packed.

I had picked up the eggs that are in lockdown and due tomorrow at the post office the day after my Mom's funeral. My dad passed away the next day and I headed to Oklahoma for his funeral and had someone here to wait for the eggs and take care of my animals. No box delivered.

I sent a pm right away to the breeder and she sent back the tracking info. My box was at the PO. So no slip concerning delivery or anything. I jumped in the car and went down there. I get the box with the words "1 of 2 boxes" writen on it. It had been there when I had picked up the other box and they only gave me one.

Not insured. I couldn't afford it. Maybe I should have figured I could afford not to.

I'm not to sure these eggs in lockdown are doing too good either. I have 7 BCMs and 2 very dark Olive Eggers in there. These I had to pick up also. I was at the hospital with my mom and spent the night there. She passed away the next afternoon and when I got home my husband ran to get to box at the PO. I THINK I see something in one of the OEs, but not sure.

Wish me luck on this next couple of hatches.

Oh and if figures I got my Sportsman on the weekend and going broke on eggs that won't hatch.

How will I be able to ever fill it up if I can't get stock hatched to ever do it? I'm so depressed

you should see the mess I just picked up today

I am not a happy camper the eggs I won were packed great and arrived in wonderful shape but I just can't help myself I won some eggs from Ebay they looked like good sellers one of which advertises on this site I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened it what a trashy way to pack one broken egg but goo on most of them

arghhh the other box was squished but still not the greatest packing job I'm done with this unless I have had good luck with someone already or I get my eggs from here I'm just done I can hatch but not broken and goey eggs I just can't do it
