May have a hatch problem.. have broody hen due in few days. 3 days ago moved her to a safer area.

Over night she must have been upset and was off eggs maybe 24 hrs. 40 degrees. I finally got her settled and she's stayed on nest constantly now she hasn't eaten or drank in a day or more. Is she in trouble or what?

It's hard to say what will happen with the eggs if their temperature dropped a lot.

For the broody I would move food and water closer to her and see if she is interested. I had a girl who would only eat sitting in the nest. I would remove her and try to get her to drink but she wouldn't stay off the nest. (I swear she didn't poop for three weeks)

With only a little ways to go I would think she will be okay.

I had one once in October, came home and the eggs were cool to the touch. Came on to this forum, and they said, just resettle her and wait and see. Mine too hatched just fine, right on time.
