may have an egg eater but not sure...i thought i saw an egg

in the coop this am and had to do some things and came back a little later (usually i do this bc it gets the other girls--we only have 4-to lay too? weird. but works) and i didnt see the egg and possibly saw some shell. I don't know who's doing it though and i know everyone says its a BAD habit...could it just have been this once?

I CANT cull. wont...there pets mainly...

You can make a sloped nest box that lets the egg roll behind a barrier where the hen cannot get to it. I wish I could find the pictures....

GOOD idea! Thanks so much for posting that! It hasn't happened since so i'm wondering if maybe it had a crack in it or fell out and they ate it then? IDK? Crossing my fingers*
