doesn't have to be lots of local cat owners to be a stray... my new kitty showed up out of the blue, noone local missing him. he did, however, have a punctured lung... most likely became a stray out someone's car window at 40 mph.

To your car problem Grit, she probably isn't used to brushing, and especially not people touching her belly, and if she is pregnant that is another reason she wouldn't want anything near her stomach. Baby steps.
