Maybe EYP?

Our girl has us worried. She was suddenly behaving oddly last night. She had isolated from the flock at bed time and was hiding in the bushes. We put her in the coop to see how she would react. A little while after, we checked on her and found her sitting oddly on the ramp that leads to the coop. She's usually at the top of the ramp as she's the head hen. We decided bringing her in was what we needed to do to be safe. When we went back out to get her after prepping the area, there was an egg below her. It was normal and well shaped. We thought maybe she had been a little bound up and the egg finally descended.
Fast forward to this morning. The picture I loaded is what we found. She laid that yolk with a very soft shell around it. She also pooped like this:

We are super worried about her. So far she is acting quite normal this morning. She was eating and scratching and was super happy to be reunited with the flock.
Are there instances that freak things like this happen without it being the EYP death sentence?
I've noticed from time to time that we don't have all the girls lay every day, now I'm wondering if that was one of the signs that something was happening?
Advice is appreciated!

If she has EYP, chances are that her abdomen would feel real full, maybe hard. Compare her to the other hens. Otherwise, she may just need some additional calcium.

Sound advice. Thank you. She seems to be feeling better. Some more calcium is the way we will go. For now, her abdomen seems to be like the other girls. She's such a sweetie too! We'll keep a close watch on her. It's so scary when things present themselves like this! Thanks again.
