Maybe it's a dumb question, but do EE lay only one color egg or multiple colors?

Okay, so let's see if I understand this...I just got some EEs and was wondering the same thing.
They are actually Ameraucanas, if that makes a difference
They are 38 straight run chicks, and assuming about half will be hens that'll be 19 girls.
Each will always lay the same colour egg, but they could, together, lay 19 different colour/shades?
Yep. You'll be amazed how many different shades of green and blue-green there can be

You can maybe talk to the breeder or ask to see the color of eggs they are getting. It would give you a clue of what to expect. Of course the fun is actually seeing the eggs.

And good luck on the 19 pullets. Straight run is straight run. I once got 7 pullets out of 7 chicks from a hatchery straight run order. I’ve had mostly boys from straight run orders too but nothing like 7 out of 7. Last year in one hatch of my eggs I got 14 pullets and 7 cockerels. In another hatch I had 75% boys. I very seldom get a 50-50 split and it can go either way. With 38 chick you should get a decent number of pullets. Sure hope so.

Yeah my last straight run was 4 hens out of 12. 8 roosters

Breeder said it's usually about half and half...we shall see

Also, can only keep one of the boys...(they're living with the eight Roos and four hens, lol) what would be a fair price to sell the other cockerels for?
Already starting to see some deffinately Roos at three weeks old. At eight weeks they'll start free ranging.
What age do they usually lay?

Not a dumb question at all! I actually BOUGHT my first one thinking the same thing, only to find out later that each chicken will lay her particular color, with some occasional lightening or darkening of the color, for her lifetime. But by then I was already smitten with those fuzzy faces and quirky personalities.

But there's something to be said for an egg basket that has lots of colors in it. My Marans lay dark brown (although not as dark as I expected), my Buff Orpington gives a medium brown egg, the Easter Eggers vary from a lovely sky blue to a greenish gray, and the Brahmas are just kicking it into high gear with eggs that look almost pink or pale purple. So it all worked out for me and I'm happy. I've been very blessed with my shipped chicks - ordered 20 pullets the first time, got 20 pullets. Ordered 8 Buff Brahma pullets this year, got 8 Buff Brahma pullets. I've had the worst pullet/cockerel ratio with feed store chicks, which I understand is pretty typical.

Just look at that pretty face!

My first eggs last year.

She's a beautiful hen and that's an awesome basket of eggs! I had hoped for something like that. Oh well, in years to come, when we have to replace our current hens, we could get a flock of EE and then we'd have that kinda basket. I love the dark, almost chocolate colored eggs too. We can only have 5 chickens, at most. Up to this point, our neighbors haven't complained. After what I've just invested in a new coop, they'd better not start. LOL For now, I'm sticking with my hubby's favorite eating egg....those big brown ones.

Ooh, yum! I should really pare my flock down too, but then I look at them all healthy and giving me wonderful eggs and think, "Okay, choose which ones go and which ones stay." At that point I'm sunk and back to 28 chickens. <sigh>

I'm so overloaded with eggs right now that as soon as I get back from the store I have to start getting a bunch in the freezer. Need to keep out enough for us to eat and enough for John (a customer) to come and get his, but the rest of the eggs are heading for the freezer.
