Mazuri duck food?

I know the Mazuri duck food is excellent in most categories, it just lacks enough calcium for laying hens in my opinion which is why I don't use it. You can put calcium on the side free choice but that only works for some. Some of my girls will go right for it after they have snacks and others won't touch it. I feed the Kalmbach 17pct layer pellets and I give them a partial scoop of the Kalmbach Henhouse Reserve (they love it but it's really expensive). Keep your eyes open for the Kalmbach products, the quality is excellent.

Chewy has Mazuri layer, you just have to look for it. I just use free oyster shell so they can choose how much they want.

Chewy has the 50lb bag of Mazuri for 47.99$ with free shipping if you order enough (not sure the exact amount, girlfriend handles the ordering. But throw in a bag or two of dog food etc... and you should have enough to get free shipping).

I have had my ducks for ~7 weeks and already hate the Purina junk some people have recommended here. It crumbles to dust just sitting in the bag, which was fine when I wanted to make mash for little 2 day old ducklings. But now I'm scared that the greedy idiots are going to aspirate the powder and die while they're scarfing down their meals. We're finishing out this bag of Purina cause I'm not made of money, but we ordered Mazuri to replace it and I'm really excited to try it.

And as a side note, this is all second hand, but I've read several reports online of people getting tainted Purina that either had mold or other unidentifiable foreign matter that made their ducks/chickens incredibly sick. Of course, I only read that stuff after I bought a bag from the local feed store :/

Just thought I'd give a quick update. Been swapped over to the Mazuri for a few days now and the ducks love it. The first meal or two they didn't eat much and weren't very excited for it, which is understandable since they had been on a different pellet for their entire lives up to that point. But now they're going nuts for it, and eating way more than they ever did with the Purina and seem even more excited for meals.

I'm really enjoying that it holds its shape much better and doesn't crumble into easily inhalable dust. Whether it has had any effect on the bird's health, can't say since they were healthy beforehand. But they like it so much, and it seems safer. So this is definitely what I'll be sticking with from now on.
