So new that I dont even have any chickens yet. Reading BYC chickens 101. Clueless but looking forward.

Thanks for the greetings. I am going to the Md Poultry Swap in Sharpsburg, Md this Sat. Jun 8 to learn from people first hand. I want to get a coop but dont want to spend a lot at least not in the beginning.

I would like to have four chickens. Dont know whether to hatch myself or buy newbies. I have a HUGE fenced in backyard and would put the coop under a shady tree.

That is all I know at present. Any guidance is welcome. Pearls of wisdom especially.
